  • Sofitel Melbourne

It is with pleasure that we invite you to join us in Melbourne on Friday 31 October and Saturday 01 November for the ninth General Surgery Meeting of The Alfred Hospital, taking place at the Sofitel Melbourne.

With a meeting theme of ‘INNOVATION AND COLLABORATION’ the program will present innovation in surgical technology and collaborative approaches across the many focused areas of General Surgery, in a warm and welcoming environment that will be attractive and relevant to all General Surgeons – regardless of their area of subspecialisation.

We are honoured to have a world class faculty presenting across the two days including local experts from major Melbourne hospital networks including The Alfred, and national and international guest speakers including visiting faculty from the University of Alabama.

About the Alfred Meeting

The Alfred Meeting is held biennially over the Friday and Saturday leading into the Melbourne Cup Spring Carnival – providing the perfect reason to be in Melbourne for the weekend. The program focuses on key areas of General Surgery, offering vital clinical updates and relevant ‘take homes’. This year’s program will have a strong focus on collaboration with session highlights including: ‘Life beyond the Fellowship Exam‘ where surgeons of all seniority will share their experiences and learn from each other; and ‘Collaborative Cases‘, highlighting the role of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary care for our patients who have become more and more complex over time.

Full provisional program will be available shortly.
