Dr Jessica Fazendin M.D.
Assistant Professor & Endocrine Surgeon - University of Alabama, Birmingham
Dr Jessica Fazendin MD, is an Assistant Professor and Endocrine Surgeon at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She attended the Medical College of Wisconsin before completing residency at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University in Philadelphia. She remained on the faculty after finishing her endocrine surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Her clinical practice covers the spectrum of endocrine surgery with a focus on uncontrolled hyperthyroidism and hyperparathyroidism. She remains clinically busy at both UAB and the Birmingham VA Medical Center, where she also is Deputy Chief of Surgery and Residency Site Director. Her interests in education extend to the undergraduate level, as she is the director for the 3rd Year Surgery Clerkship and one of the lead mentors for a learning community at the school of medicine. Her research focuses on clinical endocrine outcomes and education.
